 Tesla  Meter  is  a  glucose  meter  developed  based  
on  the  TeslaTouch  technology  that  can  provide  
all  the  informa8on  in  the  barille  system,  through  
a  physical  feedback  to  touch  interac8on,  so  you  
can  actually  feel  with  your  fingers  what  the  
screen  shows,  providing  a  much  more  effec8ve  
informa8on  to  the  user.  

The  raising  number  of  people  developing  diabetes  type2  and  the  ageing  of  the  popula8on  will  lead  
to  a  larger  number  of  blind  diabe8cs  in  the  near  future,  so  its  is  important  that  new  products  will  be  
developed  to  make  the  life  of  blind  diabe8cs  easier.  Every  diabe8c  including  the  blind  diabe8c  must  
take  the  8me  to  monitor  their  blood  sugar  levels  on  a  regular  basis.  Self  monitoring  of  the  Blood  
Glucose  levels  is  a  very  important  component  of  the  life  of  every  diabe8c.  Blind  diabe8cs  have  
problems  recognizing  buLons  and  as  you  can  imagine,  they  don’t  get  the  same  contact  and  freedom  
with  talking  glucose  meters.    
With  the  Tesla  Meter,  blind  people  will  be  able  to  read(using  braille  system)  all  the  informa8on  by  
sliding  their  fingers  on  the  the  glass  surface  and  interact  with  the  touch  screen  by  physical  feedback  
to  touch  interac8on,  so  you  can  actually  feel  with  your  fingers  the  buLons  that  the  screen  shows  

Tesla  touch  technology  

The  technology  is  based  on  the  electrovibra8on  
principle,  which  can  programma8cally  vary  the  
fric8on  between  sliding  fingers  and  a  touch  panel.  
The  resultant  tac8le  sensa8ons  are  prominent  and  
pleasant.  Importantly,  this  technology  requires  no  
moving  parts,  unlike  most  modern-­‐day  tac8le  
feedback  devices,  which  use  various  mechanical  
actuators.  
This  could  be  an  object  texture,  feeling  of  the  paint  
or  weight  of  the  file.  Or  perhaps  imagine  a  flat  
touch  keyboard  where  the  virtual  keys  can  be  
actually  felt.
