Cavacas Therms are situated in Cortiada, near Aguiar da Beira, in a completely isolated place ideal for resting. Its mineromedicals water come from two springs, the Nossa Senhora dos Remdios and the Amores, iindicated to treat intestinal disturbs, some dermatosis, rheumatism,hipertension, bronquitis and sinusitis.

Main characteristics of the water The water has bicarbonate in its origin, sulfur and sodium in its total mineralization of 275,57. It also has total sulfurization of 4,7 with pH of 8,2 and temperature of 29C

Felgueiras Therms
This water has been used since the 19th century and the first known cure was of Priest Jos Loureno. Then after some failed attempts, Mr Jos Maria Marques Caldeira, finally got the legal authorization to explore the thermal springs in August, 7th 1882 until today.

Physical and chemical characteristics This water has got bicarbonate, sodium, calcium, potassium and magnesium, and in its secondary mineralization, it has got chlore and sulfate. It also has got natural carbonic gas with pH of 8,4 and temperature of 35,8 C.

Alcafaches Therms
These sulfur therms have been used since the Roman occupation and the spring is in the River Do. They have been legally founded in 1962 and the water is one of the richest and hottest in Portugal, with tempearture around 50C and found about 75 and 150 m deep.

Physical and chemical characteristics The water has got bicarbonates, sodium, fluore, sulfur and silicate, with a total mineralization of 320,49. ReIt has got total sulfurization of 0,70 with pH of 8,41 and temperature na emergncia of 50C.

Sangemils Therms
This spring has been discovered in the 18th century . The water can be foun at 54m deep and are good for rheumatism, muscle and bones illnesses and breathing illnesses. Sangemil is a very quiet place and is used also for moments of rest and relaxation and Nature appreciation .

The oldest records of the usage od these thermal water are 2 000 years old. But the Romans were responsible for spreading the use of it in the 1st century. In 1152, D. Afonso Henriques recognised Vila do Banho and turn it into a village. And this king also use these Therms for recovering after the Battle of Badajoz against the Spanish

Caldas de Argos Therms

In the bank of Douro River, the therms are used since the 12th century. Queen D. Mafalda ordered the construction of an Inn in 1102 next to the water spring.
