If Alaska—vast, untamed and magnificent—is “The Last Frontier,” then Unalaska is Alaska’s last frontier. Roughly 800 miles southwest of Anchorage on the necklace of volcanic islands known as the Aleutians, Unalaska is out there. Way out there.
