Before Their Tete-A-Tete, Tillerson And Russians Trade Verbal Tit-For-Tat On Syria

Before the secretary of state even touched down in Moscow, heated words were already flying between the two sides over Syrian President Bashar Assad and the U.S. missile strike last week.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson sits at a table surrounded by foreign ministers from G-7 countries on Tuesday, the second day of a meeting in Lucca, Italy. Tillerson headed to Moscow later that day for the start of a series of what promise to be some tough conversations.

Rex Tillerson has touched down in Moscow. But well before his plane landed on the runway, heated words were already flying between the U.S. secretary of state and Russian officials over the situation in Syria.

"I hope that what the Russian government concludes is that they have aligned themselves with an unreliable partner in Bashar al-Assad,"
