Humans may be able to pick out sick people just by looking at their faces

Spotting infection at a glance may help us avoid infection — but our abilities are far from perfect.

If you want to stay healthy, it’s a good idea to avoid people who are sick. But little is known about humans’ skill at identifying people who are under the weather.

Now, however, a new study offers evidence that humans can detect whether someone is sick by looking at their faces. That new info may help reduce the spread of infection, and eventually help doctors better diagnose patients, researchers
