POETS & WRITERS MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES application information for writers conferences, literary festivals, residencies, and colonies of interest to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. Applications for the following events are due shortly. Conferences and festivals with rolling, first-come, first-served admission are listed well in advance. Some accept registration on the date of the event. Contact the sponsoring organization for an application and complete guidelines. When requesting information by mail, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE).

Baltic Writing Residency in Sweden

The Baltic Writing Residency in Sweden offers a three- to four-week residency to a poet, fiction writer, or creative nonfiction writer in Stockholm, Sweden. The resident is provided with private lodging in a furnished cottage and a $1,000 stipend. Travel expenses and meals are not included. Using the online application system, submit 10 pages of poetry or 20 pages of prose, a curriculum vitae including a list of published work, and contact information for two references with a $25 application fee by December 15 for poetry or by January 15, 2019, for prose.
