The allure of radial valves

What are radial valves? Imagine a four-valve cylinder with the stems of all four valves initially parallel to each other and to the cylinder’s axis. Now, one by one, tilt each valve’s stem away from that axis by some amount, by ten or more degrees. We call valves oriented in this way ‘radial’ because their stems are tilted radially away from the cylinder axis.
