Celebrity ‘Sheds’ steal the limelight

RECENT weeks have seen a further quartet of Bachmann Class 66s appear, the ‘OO’ gauge model continuing to prove popular thanks to the fairly regular appearance of new liveries on the real locos. This time around, only one of the GMs is a general release by Bachmann, the remaining trio all being limited editions that are exclusive to particular retailers.

The highlight for many will be the long-awaited appearance of the last built Class 66 in 4mm scale, (32-983, £169.95). Delivered to the UK in February 2016, it was formally unveiled in its BR green livery at the National Railway Museum three months later, which saw it displayed alongside its rather more famous 9F namesake.
