Hornby hits the reset button
SIMON Kohler’s return to Hornby marks the end of an unstable period in Hornby’s recent history and with it comes a distinct change in strategy which encompasses the best of Hornby tradition and practices which have stood the test of time, at the same time preparing the company for the challenges of a fast-changing hobby. Whilst you can never return to the past, Hornby is recapturing its heritage by making a welcome return to its original Westwood site in Margate, as a centre of its operations. The site is home to Hornby’s heritage centre and shop which leads on to the change in strategy from one which caused alarm in the modelling community and considerable loss of trust in Hornby’s stakeholders.
