Where is Fowler 2-6-4 tank No. 42435 buried?

FOR several years now, friend and Heritage Railway fan Chris Kapolka has made attempts to locate the precise resting place of Fowler 4MT 2-6-4T No. 42325, which was intentionally crashed, in April, 1962, during the making of the movie The Password Is Courage, which starred Dirk Bogarde.

Chris believes that the locomotive lies buried near the Scratchwood services facility on the M1, its exact location seemingly being 30ft beneath the southbound
