This week on Alt.Latino's Spotify and Apple Music playlists: Orishas returns with a piano ballad for existentialist insomniacs, Chicago's Divino Niño offers a dream-pop ballad and Mateo Kingman teams up with Gustavo Santaolalla.

Orishas, "Insomnio"

With "Insomnio," the group returns with a straightforward piano ballad about insomnia with a distinctly Cuban existentialism: "Observo amargamente el destino de la gente / que mienten mientras que otro invierte / en su tiempo inocente / y parecen ausentes / a un mundo sin luna en su vientre," Yotuel says. Orishas have always been experts in this kind of observation, in the exceptionalism among the everyday, and "Insomnio" still hits just as hard.
