It’s looking great for Western collectors at Pershore

ALTHOUGH the Southern Railway will headline GW Railwayana’s sale on March 14 with West Country and Merchant Navy nameplates, as reported on news page 23 of this issue, five of the GWR express locomotive classes will also vie for attention in the nameplate, cabside, and smokebox categories.

Heading the Swindon nameplate pack will be , aided and abetted by , , and, from Nos. 4088, 4965, 6911 and 6829 respectively, and even diesel traction has a Western bias, thanks to from a Class 42 and from a Class 52.
