Those ‘E’ numbers

I doubt I’m the only one who keeps an eye on internet auction sites when looking for bits and pieces for projects. It is a bit like autojumbling without the fun of raking through boxes of grubby bits and pieces in a freezing cold and/or wet field.

The problem is, the level of knowledge needs to be a bit higher when you’re sitting at home in front of a computer and looking at pictures of bits and there’s no one on hand to ask for clarity.

Just such a thing happened to me recently through the course of this Triumph project – the big bits are done and now it’s the expensive and time-consuming jobs which are dragging along. The basis of the bike is a collection of parts largely from the early 1960s and have been built up over the years I’ve been involved with old motorcycles.
