Toontrack Superior Drummer – Decades SDX €159
Toontrack’s Superior Drummer is a highly-regarded drum playback and production tool. Usable standalone or as a plugin, and now on version 3, it comes with a huge content library (235GB) that includes hundreds of electronic sounds alongside 14 drum kit configurations engineered by the legendary George Massenburg.
As good as the core content is, for this review we’ll be looking at the new Decades expansion library for SD3. Currently there are more than 15 expansion packs available for Superior Drummer, but Decades is a particularly special case given that it was recorded at Capitol Studios by the Grammy-winning studio legend, Al Schmitt.
