Deep Thoughts on Mobiling in 2020 and Beyond

The calendar tells us we’re in the main part of the cold weather season. For most of the northern hemisphere, it’s difficult to consider installing new mobile gear, routing wires, and mounting antennas when it’s downright chilly out there. So it seems appropriate to share some deep winter thoughts on where mobile operations may be heading in the near future.

Moving On Up

While the subtitle might conjure up memories of the lively theme from the TV classic it may be time to consider moving mobile operating frequencies “on up” the radio spectrum. That’s not to say we can’t continue to enjoy traditional HF, VHF, and UHF operations but just as the internet has revolutionized just about everything else, it’s already taken a firm hold on the cars, service.
