Gorgeous Guinea fowl

I HAD the pleasure many years ago of keeping quite a few guinea fowl. Unlike chickens, guinea fowl have had little if any human intervention with their breeding. Because of this they have remained a hardy, independent and resilient bird.

Their appearance is that of a rounded bird about the size of an average chicken. When they run their feathered bodies tend to flounce up and down (always a delight to watch).

I always remember them having rather intense, busy personalities and some folks tend to think that they are rather dim-witted. But I’ve always found them to be fairly organised, albeit a little flighty
