Lately, we’ve being looking at a series of medium-paced Mixolydian solos that demonstrate various approaches and are achievable to play from start to finish, to provide you with some much-needed vocabulary in this under-used speed category.

In this lesson, we are going to expand these options by throwing a minor 3rd into the mix. Mixolydian often has the minor 3rd incorporated for a bluesier effect. When the minor 3rd replaces the major 3rd, technically, we get Dorian mode:
