There was a reassuring clinking from the back of Rob Brown’s 4x4 as we left the warmth of the gunroom and headed up to his moor. It was reassuring because despite being late August the weather was looking as though it was soon going to be “yukken it down” as an old Yorkshire friend of mine used to say.
