FORMER 1D heartthrob Niall Horan is enjoying the relative freedom that comes from leaving the world’s biggest boyband behind, and especially the opportunities it’s opened up for him.

Niall has been carefully plotting the next step of his solo career while getting to know what his fans want and what the music scene needs ahead of the release of his second album.

The 26-year-old Irish singer-songwriter had great success with Flicker, his first album post 1D, but feels he pigeonholed himself with his then slow and melodic Eagles-inspired sound.
