A former budding Rugby League player, Blake O’Connor opted for a music career, leading to his win. O’Connor has a big voice that belies his 18 years, and he’s also an accomplished songwriter. The album’s lead single, ‘Beautiful As You’, is a self-penned soft rock track, and there’s elements of pop in ‘Let Me Be’. O’Connor rocks it up on ‘If You Wanna Get To Heaven’, a cover of the old Ozark Mountain Daredevils’ hit; he slips comfortably into romantic ballad mode on ‘Worth A Little More’ and producer-guitarist Adam Eckersley adds some classy dobro licks to ‘Keep Rollin’.
