Clive Cussler: An adventurous life
NEW YORK (AP) _ Clive Cussler, the million-selling adventure writer and real-life thrill-seeker who wove personal details and spectacular fantasies into his page-turning novels about underwater explorer Dirk Pitt, died Feb. 24 at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was 88. The cause was not disclosed.
In addition to his literary fame, he was a well-known old car hobbyists whose cars were often seen on the Pebble his Colorado collection. There he displayed Duesenbergs as well as Auburns, V-16 Cadillacs and other heavy iron that sometimes starred in his books with hero Pitt behind the wheel.
