Ruth Fuller Sasaki

RAISED BY A WEALTHY family in Chicago, Ruth Fuller married a prominent attorney at twenty-four, had a daughter, and filled her days attending to the obligations expected of her station—while also cultivating a keen interest in Eastern languages and thought.

In 1930, at the age of thirty-eight, she, a period of intense Zen meditation. It was here, at the age of forty, that she had an awakening.
