Isolated dreams

In my final year at high school, a career adviser sat inside a makeshift caravan for a full day waiting for students to file in, one by one. “What is your passion?” he enquired. “What are your goals? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What,” he asked, “is success for you?”

Back in high school I liked reading a lot and playing sport, so the career adviser plugged these words into his computer and out spat an answer. I should pursue a career in sports journalism it recommended - not that I had giving up.
