UNDERSTANDING EQ

An EQ (equaliser) is a tool for boosting or attenuating certain frequencies of the audio spectrum. Technically, an EQ is a combination of separate filters, whose cutoff/centre frequency, gain and width can be set by the user.

A filter is a tool for cutting all frequencies below and/or above a certain point, specified by the value of the cutoff frequency.

TYPES OF EQ BAND

Low Pass Removes frequencies above the cutoff frequency – aka High Cut.
