WHILE SHE SLEEPS

EVERY TIME I DIE/VEIN

O2 BRIXTON ACADEMY, LONDON

Sheffield’s finest keep the faith in south London

band has faltered on the high, unforgiving Brixton Academy stage over the years; are not one of them. Those in the venue aren’t so much treated as subjected to a blistering, feral performance that sees pits open from the off and the Boston outfit leave a permanent mark seared into the minds of everyone who sound almost polished in comparison, but it’s a foolish man who bets against the New Yorkers in a live setting. They’ve been at the top of their game for so long that there’s nothing left for them to prove, yet they still play as if their career depends on every show and tonight is no exception. Whether it’s earlier cuts like or more recent tracks like , they’re all delivered with panache and seasoned venom.
