From migraine to joy

“Who knows? Maybe it will make you happy.”

My neurologist had no idea how much itwould affect me to hear him say that. And, in retrospect, I had no idea that it would be the launching point for a redirection of my life.

We had been discussing my next plan of action for my migraines because my current one clearly wasn’t working. My migraines were steadily worsening and increasing in frequency.

My neurologist said it was time for a preventive. He suggested nortriptyline, an anti-depressant. “You’d have to take it daily.”
