Benchmark your CPU like Maximum PC
REGULAR READERS will know that benchmarking is a big deal in the Maximum PC office (or, as we produce this issue during lockdown, the respective homes of the Maximum PC team). Benchmarking can be an arduous process, full of frustration and confusion. Why won’t this test run? Why is this result so low? The sheer amount of different benchmarks is no help; hunt for figures for a specific component and you might end up with dozens of meaningless results.
But never fear; we’re here to show you how we do things, starting with how exactly we test CPUs. If you’re curious about the performance of your system, or you’re assembling a fresh build and want to show off your specs, then benchmarking is the way to do it. In this tutorial, we’re going to explain each of the tests we use to evaluate the performance of processors.
