LONG TENTACLES OF THE VIRUS

AT THE carwash where I work customers regularly bring mealies, rice, wheat or sunflower seeds to feed the pigeons that live around the flats near the filling station.

But when lockdown started and the carwash stopped operating, the birds looked confused and hungry.

I’m fond of birds, despite being aware of the pathogens from their droppings, and felt sorry for the pigeons that came to land next to me as I was sitting alone eating at a bench.
