Jubilee conquers all, but a signal lever plate is star of the show

ALTHOUGH LMS Jubilee nameplate Conqueror achieved the highest realisation in Great Central's fourth fortnightly internet, email, telephone and postal sale that ended on July 24, the star of the show was a signal lever plate from an unidentified GWR signalbox.

The nameplate was carried by No. 45701, built at Crewe in April 1936 and withdrawn fromfrom Southern Region Standard 5MT No. 73118 in Great Central's second sale that was held four weeks earlier.
