Hi Rosemary. What’s your first writing issue?
I have written a book based on a young Romanian, renamed Ivan, who we had in our foster care. The first part is a work of fiction from his viewpoint but in the third person and based on how I imagined his life before he came to us. The second part deals with his life with us and is also in the third person. It is written as fiction, though from our, mostly, factual viewpoint. I am struggling with weaving the two parts together without confusing the reader.
So is it a book of two distinct halves?
The first part is 38,650 words out of a total of 87,862 so the book is fairly evenly divided. The perspective does change slightly. For example, the narrative in one of the early chapters in part one is from the viewpoint of the wealthy woman who takes
