Mobile vs. Base

In the spirit of today’s social discourse of comparing everything to well, everything (cupcake wars, anyone?), it might be fun to consider the pros and cons of mobile operations as compared to base stations (Note to purists: Let’s not get started on “base” vs. “home” station. - ed.).

Many hams are fortunate to have both, that is a home shack or base station that occupies a place of honor in one’s residence, as well as a mobile rig that enables HF and/or UHF/VHF operations while on the road.
