THE CALL OF BEC
For the past few years, Brighton-born Bec, AKA Rebecca Godfrey, has been crafting deep, titanic techno in Berlin, which has seen her rapidly garnering attention and acclaim. Following the release of her debut EP Relentless by Pan-Pot’s Second State imprint four years ago, industry heavyweights Carl Cox and Adam Beyer quickly snapped her up for their respective labels, Intec and Drumcode. Sharing her deep knowledge of studio technology, Bec has collaborated with Roland and Novation to create numerous product demos and videos, and has amassed some enviable gear in her Berlin studio. Onstage, she wields three CDJ decks and has performed on some of the globe’s most iconic stages, including those at Burning Man, Warehouse Project, Tobacco Dock, Watergate Berlin and Fabrik Madrid.
Bec’s own self-titled record label is now well underway too, with three-track EP BEC 002 – Turning Point now available to purchase and stream. We visit her gear-packed new studio to find out more.
