Pyotr Ilyich TCHAIKOVSKY (1840-1893)

chaikovsky was in the midst of writing in 1875 when the editor of the Russian commissioned him to write – one solo piano piece for each month, appearing in the magazine in its respective month. The ‘Christmas’ subtitle to this piece, the last in the set, was added by the publisher. January, March, April, May, June, October and November have appeared in past issues.
