Taimi
Long before COVID-19 forced the world to lock down, Taimi were committed to creating and nurturing a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ people online. What started out as a dating app for gay men has blossomed into a dating and social platform for all members of our community, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity. It meant that when we were all faced with a global pandemic, Taimi was well placed to keeping LGBTQ+ connected during a time of quarantine and uncertainty.
The importance of that cannot be underestimated – especially as LGBTQ+ venues face challenging times ahead. Communication and connection are key for our community, and being able to do so in a safe environment is crucial for the most vulnerable among us. That’s why for 2020 we are recognising Taimi with the GAY TIMES Honour for Community Entreprenuership.
Launched in 2017, Taimi was founded by Alex Pasykov and has since rolled out across 45 countries globally. Alex is a vocal ally to the LGBTQ+ community, and continues to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights
