Removing internal partitions, either partially or fully, has the potential to revolutionise how you use your living space. There are no hard and fast rules as to which walls are ‘best’ to knock down — your decision should arise from knowing which aspects of your current layout do and don’t fit with your lifestyle. Knocking through to create a contemporary open-plan living space may be perfect for some families, but maintaining separation between cooking and living areas might be better for others.
