Slow Start

With most of the world still contending with Covid-19, the new year feels very much like the previous one. As in 2020, auction houses are relying on digital offerings while remaining cautious about releasing details of their live presentations too far in advance of sales.

Christie’s Asia Art Week (March 16–18) in New York will comprise one online and six live sales spanning antiques along with modern and contemporary art from Asia. The traditionally biannual series was held in-person only once last year, in September, after the March sales were scrapped due to Covid-19.
