South Africa’s labour environment is highly regulated and an employer must take care to comply with labour law. Compliance, however, requires specialist knowledge, so it is perhaps unsurprising that there are a number of myths surrounding labour law that lead to employers believing they are acting correctly, when in fact they are putting their businesses at risk.
