Nate and his dog, Sludge are detectives working the case of the missing joke book. They use clues and work together to the missing book before the world comes to an end. The story promotes friendship and teamwork. The text is large to make the reader feel less intimidated when first looking at it. There are illustrations throughout chapters to help the reader visualize the characters and setting.
