- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Live with the intelligence community can be very much unpredictable the fall are very many again some innocent victims become part of their lives. This agents takes life's at any moment and they can become their own victims in the end.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Lieutenant Eve Dallas would never let a murder go unanswered... but when dealing with the slithering characters of Homeland she just might have to bend her rules.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was very well written. J. D. Robb's 'In Death' series, as a whole, is exceptional. That said, some individual 'In Death' stories are better than others. This one focused less on the personal lives of the characters that are part of the series, and more on the mystery. There is also some near-future 'history.'
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5great book. but then again all of this series is amazing.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The latest case for New York Police and Security Department homicide detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas is quite a puzzle. A Staten Island Ferry rest room covered in blood, tourist Carolee Grogan missing. But if she’s not on board the ferry and she didn’t jump into the water, then what happened to the woman? And if it’s not Carolee’s blood splattered in the restroom, then whose is it? And where is the body? This novella is available in several formats, including the single title and paired with the “Ritual in Death” novella. It is included in the anthology “The Lost.” “Missing in Death” follows “Kindred in Death” and precedes “Fantasy in Death.”As with the other novellas in the “In Death” canon, there is only one main plot in the telling of this intriguing tale. But the evolving relationships and the camaraderie remain at the heart of the tale. The strong sense of place anchors the narrative and, as with many of the novella tales, the plot could easily become a full-length book. But the action moves swiftly, grabbing readers from the beginning, and the unfolding story offers readers some interesting spy tools, espionage, a Summerset moment, and unexpected surprise or two. Highly recommended.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I don't know how Robb packs so much story into so few pages, but she does. Another very short book but very, very good.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is by far my favorite In Death short story. Excellent character development for Eve and the missing body on a ferry element was interesting. A jam packed mystery reminiscent of Agatha Christie in pace and mellowness (in comparison to the rest of the Robb books).
