About this audiobook

The eighty-mile journey of a common carpenter and a simple peasant girl is one of the most powerful stories in history. As books go out of print and stories fade from memory, the journey of Joseph and Mary and her delivery inside a common barn continues to bless and inspire hope in people around the world. Donna VanLiere's retelling shows that the story of the Nativity is alive in our modern world.

The Christmas story retold in a very real way where we can feel Mary's pain as she bounces along on the donkeys back 9 months pregnant and sense her and Joseph's fear of who this child will be. Well done

I love the design of this small book. It is filled with beautiful watercolor illustrations and a beautiful story. VanLiere has written a realistic view of Mary and Joseph's arduous journey to Bethlehem. You get a better understanding of what it must have been like and makes them feel much more real. I really mean small book, by the way. It only took about half an hour to read but will definitely be reread again and again each Christmas. It has definitely gotten me into the spirit of the holiday and I believe, sometimes, it is good to remind ourselves what Christmas is all about.

A great synopsis of what it was probably like for Mary and Joseph. Thanks!!
