About this audiobook
Suddenly, Eriador's enslaved humans, elves, and dwarfs begin to rally around rumored tales of a freedom fighter who strikes Greensparrow's foul minions...an unknown hero who wields a legendary sword and magic cape...a warrior who is invisible but who casts the "Crimson Shadow."
R. A. Salvatore
Over three decades ago, R. A. Salvatore created the character of Drizzt Do’Urden, the dark elf who has withstood the test of time to stand today as an icon in the fantasy genre. With his work in the Forgotten Realms, the Crimson Shadow, the DemonWars Saga, and other series, Salvatore has sold more than thirty million books worldwide and has appeared on the New York Times bestseller list more than two dozen times. He considers writing to be his personal journey, but still, he’s quite pleased that so many are walking the road beside him! R.A. lives in Massachusetts with his wife, Diane, and their two dogs, Dexter and Pikel. He still plays softball for his team, Clan Battlehammer, and enjoys his weekly DemonWars: Reformation RPG and Dungeons & Dragons 5e games.

Reviews for The Sword of Bedwyr

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book certainly brings together plenty of grand adventure, with a steam-breathing giant turtle, a dragon, a demon, a mine full of dwarves, a good wizard, a bad wizard, and lots of elves and cyclops, a perfect adventure for a young renegade princeling and a rogue bandit. I was not fond of the over-detailed play by play battle scenes, and the adventure may have been more effective with more development, tighter editing, and fewer fantasy elements, but for a fast-reading pulp fantasy novel this one was not bad. The plot was laid out smoothly and was well paced, and the story was easy enough to follow even with all the complicated twists and flourishes.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator brought these characters to life! Especially Oliver. This is my first book by Salvatore and his writing style is engaging and intriguing. He handles slow moments well. And his fight scenes are incredibly written. I'm excited to finish the trilogy.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Not a very interesting story, focused on two specific characters and their getting to know each other during their escapades. No sense of scope of the land, not very convincing description of the plight of the people, why these two guys should be considered heroes. Unfortunately I found it kind of boring, quite frankly.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked the hero vs. villain aspects of this book and the action sequences are always great in a Salvatore book. For me, this didn't have the quality or depth of his earlier Drizzt novels, but it was still very enjoyable.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I'm sure that I would have liked this book provided I could have heard all of it for some reason it seems that the outputs of these audiobooks are skipping words and you do not hear everything.
