About this audiobook
Witches are dangerous. They can kill you with a look, or a word. They can send their friend the Devil after you in the shape of a dog or a cat. They can make a clay picture of you, then break it ...and a few weeks later you are dead. Today, of course, most people don't believe in witches. But in 1612 everybody was afraid of them. Young Jennet Device in Lancashire knew a lot about them because she lived with the Witches of Pendle. They were her family ...

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love it and I think it could be better if we have the subtitles or reading along with audiobooks.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The Narration: Well, the reading style of this audiobook isn't the best. The narrator made her sentences long and drawn out so it was a bit annoying to listen.
About the story: Janet is 9 years old, always hungry and hated by everyone other than Mr. Nole. She likes him and after she accuses her whole family of being witches they are imprisoned and finally killed. She is also imprisoned until Mr. Nole gets her out of prison. That's it, the whole story in a few sentences.
Conclusion: This book was written in the voice of a 9-year-old and tbh I would rather read the whole thing from the perspective of an older Janet. The overall storytelling is alright and executed well, but all in all, I wouldn't recommend to anyone else. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5In England in 1600s many people believed in withes.Janet Device lived near Pendle Hill. Her family was very poor. And other family members were witch.I doubt whether wiches can curse people or not. But,it is sure wiches had a hard time that time.I don't understand Janet failed her family.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Jannet Device is in prison. She was known a witch by other people. But she is a normal girl. This book is difficult for me because it is different from I think. My witch's image is Hally Potter. So this is too real.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This is a true story about witch. The main character is a girl. Her family members are witch but she is not.She hate her mother so she told the truth about her family...I didn't think this story was fun because the climax was lack in a fun.So I don't recommend this book.On the other hand, this story is easy so I read speedy.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5'My mother is a witch,' she began to speak. Jennet Device, a nine-year-old girl grew up with four witches as a family, and she hated them because she had never been loved by other people thanks to them. But, one day in such a terrible life, finally she got a chance to be free and haooy. It was the trial for the witches' many crimes! In this story, Jennet often says her story is true. I think it can't be, but it was true that people in England in the 1600s had really believed the existence of witches, and killed many women "like" a witch. But, were they real witches? I think some people must have killed innocent women with their cruel tongues, so I got very complicated feelings when I read out Jennet's innocent words in my mind.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5In the 1600s everybody believed witches and was afraid of them.In 1612 a poor girl called Jennet Device lived with her family. And all her family are witches. This is Jennet's story. The witch-hunt is the fact.It is so dreadful. But this book is not interesting.

Before I read it,I don't know that witch existed long time ago. That is why this story is very shocking for me!!But I cannot help but sympathise with a poor person,Jennet.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The stage of this story is 1612. All the people feared the witch. She alone is not a witch though Janet was born in witch's lineage. I think Jennet is poor. I think that I wanted to let her do a usual living.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This book is a poor woman's story.Jennet's family are all witches, but she isn't a witch.Although she was caught in a prison.I think her life is like a disaster. She was put into prison on a false charge. The story was simply too awful.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I think this book is a typical thriller story. The first there are many riddle, the last I could understand everything. It is very exciting. I like this story and I want to read like this story. But this book's pictures are little ugly. In this book, there are mant unique characters. I think this couse of interesting. Especially heroin's father is very interesting character

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5In England in 1600s people was afraid of witches. Because they can kill people.Jennet Device has been put in the prison. Because people thought her to be a witch. This is a story of "Witch hunting". I thought this story's characters is selfish. So I thought that she was unhappy.

So they were hung because they were witches. The girl was helped by kind rich man. But one day the man dead.I know the history of England that there were many witches and they were killed. And most of them were not real whitches. This is very bad history but we must know this and remember.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story is about a woman. All her family are witches, and she is now in prison. This story doesn't end happily, but I could enjoy in some extent.I could understood how witches are treated in this era.So I give 3 Stars
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a true story about witches. A family of Device is witch's family except Jennet. After Nowell who protect Janet died, the situation change deeplyI don’t believe a witch exist, but I am interested in witch. This story is interesting. But there are some words I don’t know, so I feel the book is difficult to read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a true story. In England in the 1600s many people believed in witches.Everybody was very afraid of them.Because a witch could kill someone just with a curse.Chief character Janet lived with the family who cursed the world without culture poorly in the wasteland. When her family go prison, she protected by Nowell. But after Nowell’s dead, the situation turned. This story was very dark from the start to the end. And, the cut-in illustration made the story scarier.I have finished being anxious about the continuation of the talk, and reading at a dash.I want everyone to read this.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is story about witches. But, it is true story. This book is a story about girl.I am interested in witches. But, I did not study a detailed world history .So it is reference for me to understand witches.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In this story, witches are dangerous. They do a lot of crimes. So they were feared in 1612.Compared with it, today, most people don't believe in witches.Of course I don't believe witches, too.But this is true stories. Young Jennet Device is doubt. She is not witch. But her family is witch. The story is unjustness. However, I think that it is a story that it is made to think.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is true story. In England,in the 1600s,many people believed in witches and were afraid of them.Jennet Device hated her family because her family was witche. So she told judge her family and her family was hunged.I wonder if there were witches, but I surprised that this is true story. If I were Jannet Device,I wouldn't told Judge the truth. But I don't know which is correct.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This is a true story. There were witches. If they get angry, they can cause and kill somebody.A family of Device was also witch's family except Jennet. I don't like this story because it is gloomy from the beginning and the end.If there was the happier end,I would like this story more. And in fact I can't exactly understand this story.
