About this audiobook

Season 2 of Good Omens coming soon!

“Reads like the Book of Revelation, rewritten by Monty Python.” — San Francisco Chronicle

The classic novel of angels, demons, and Armageddon from the internationally bestselling authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, now a Prime original series starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant.

According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle—are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.

And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist . . .

Editor's Note

The apocalypse derailed…

Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s collaboration is a cult classic for a reason. It’s an absurdly funny commentary on good vs. evil, nature vs. nurture, and the true nature of free choice. If you’re a fan of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” and haven’t read “Good Omens,” you’ll definitely want to pick it up, especially now that an Amazon adaptation starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen has been released.

Well, it's that time again... You know, the time when the end of the world is nigh and stuff. Yeah. But this time we have Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's version of it to enjoy, and boy is it an enjoyable, hilarious journey. I loved this book from beginning to end, reading snippets to my husband as I went to make him laugh, too.

Truthfully, I just wanted to read the book before the TV series started, but I simply can't believe why I hadn't picked up this gem before. It's really the best of two legendary authors captured in one book.

    I LOVED IT!

Nice comfort read. Perhaps I’ll have to update my review on the future, but the ending seems a bit abrupt. That could just be the nature of its themes and purposeful

Man, I really don't think I do comedy.

I didn't find this book funny. Most of the characters are annoying. Every section including the horsemen, the Them, and Anathema is dull. There isn't much sense in the physics of anything either. Basically, I blacked out halfway through and couldn't finish. Obviously though, I'm in the minority. (I did enjoy the Crowley/Aziraphale sections though. Should have been the whole book. Oh well.)

A humorous tale of an Angel and Devil in partnership to save humanity from the antichrist. I didn't think it was funny. I understand why it has a cult following because the writing is very good. Except for a few clever remarks about modern life, I didn't like it at all. I tried to read the whole thing but I did a lot of skipping to the end, Thank God.

This was such an enjoyable listen! I played it while driving cross-country and was thoroughly entertained. The narration is pleasing to listen to and the character voices are phenomenal (Crowley sounds very much like DT from the tv series). I didn't feel that Adam's voice matched the character (his friends were all young and somewhat nasally, Adam sounded like a gruff old man), but that would be my only complaint.

Very enjoyable. I especially liked the banter between the two principle characters and the narrator’s depiction. Very humorous and much appreciated.

This is a book to keep in your pocket as a talisman against the ordinary and heavy weight of a jaded. To read often as needed.

Very witty and entertaining! The authors are clever in their writing and references to different beings and concepts. The narrator was amazing! He did so many voices so well and kept me entertained. I gave this 4 stars because I think this book might be better enjoyed reading than listening on audio- there are so many characters and different story lines at one time I got a tad confused. I’ll definitely be picking it up and reading it in the future.

Funny and satisfying. Neil Gaiman is one of my favorites but this one is not one of my favorites from him, yet I don't mind re-reading this later in the future.

It was an interesting read. To follow several different characters and have them come together in the end for armageddon. The narrator did an excellent job. Often I find audiobooks where the person reading has a flat and dull tone of voice. Martin Jarvis did a good job keeping my attention. He gives each character a distinctive voice so they do not get muddle together.

Great book. Just wasn't a fan of some of the voices the narrator did, especially for female characters.

This book is one very long running sentence. No chapter breaks. Confusing jumps in character dialog. No segues.

Excellently clever story- as I expect from Gaiman and Pratchett. The narration is also exquisite with characters vibrantly brought to life by a single narrator.
