About this audiobook

Jane Austen’s most popular novel, originally published in 1813, some seventeen years after it was first written, presents the Bennet family of Longbourn. Against the background of gossipy Mrs Bennet and the detached Mr Bennet, the quest is on for husbands for the five daughters. The spotlight falls on Elizabeth, second eldest, who is courted by Mr Darcy though initially she is more concerned with the fate of her other sisters. This marvellous account of family life in Regency England is read with vigour and style by Emilia Fox.

Perfect narration of an excellent story. Thoroughly enjoyed every single chapter and the voices made for the characters were adequately put and not at all overacted. Great audiobook

Always a favorite. Had been a few years since I read it and this time I was struck with how very sarcastic and funny Mr. Bennet is. ❤️

I always loved the movies and BBC series, so I finally got around to listening to the book. It's a great book and Jane Austen makes it easy to read and holds your attention. The person who reads this audio book also does an amazing job of holding attention and does different voices that aren't cringe but are just slightly different so you can tell who each person is

Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite books and I re-read it almost every year, a lot of the time via the audiobook. I've listened to a few different recordings, all with different narrators but this one with Emilia Fox is certainly my favourite. She has a great way of capturing all the characters and their personalities, making the book very engaging and fun, an important aspect when listening to a classic novel.

Well done, suffered from technical problems towards the end with frequent drop-outs in the audio narration.

Classic charming story, that puts you in a different world. Reading it is so much interesting than watching the movie.

I loved this!! The narration by Emilia Fox was sublime!! She did many of the characters extremely well! And for this if you who don’t know she actually played Mr Darcy’s sister Georgiana in the 1995 BBC series! Loved this audiobook! My all time favourite!

Emilia Fox is an INCREDIBLE storyteller and I only wish she had done every single one of Jane Austen's novels. This is my favorite book of all time and I got to fall in love with it all over again with this rendition. If you love the book, the BBC, and the 2005 movie, do yourself a favor and listen to this. I didn't realize it until half way through but Emilia Fox played Ms. Darcy in the 1995 show! I just absolutely adored her reading and she is such an adept narrator with distinct enough voices as to know who was talking at all times, but not overdone to the point of hurting me, as many audiobooks often do. I will be listening to this version again and again -- seriously, give it a listen. I laughed, I cried, and I pined. Words cannot do it justice, otherwise I would continue to assure you in the most animated language of the violence of my affections for this audiobook.

The book is a drama as you might expect. However, my high rating comes due to the narrator. She has a staggering job at reading the book in a fashion that inspires the book and motivated me to read on

Impeccably written and narrated well. Chapters do not align but it doesn't affect the enjoyment of listening to it.
