About this audiobook

Ryan Adler and his twin sister, Jane, spent their happiest childhood days at their parents’ mountain Colorado cabin—until divorce tore their family apart. Now, with the house about to be sold, the Adler twins gather with their closest friends for one last snowboarding-filled holiday. While commitment-phobic Ryan gazes longingly at Lauren, wondering if his playboy days are over, Jane’s hopes of reconciling with her old boyfriend evaporate when he brings along his new fiancée. As drama builds among the friends, something lurks in the forest, watching the cabin, growing ever bolder as the snow falls…and hunger rises.

After a blizzard leaves the group stranded, the true test of their love and loyalty begins as the hideous creatures outside close in, one bloody attack at a time. Now Ryan, Jane, and their friends must fight—tooth and nail, bullet and blade—for their lives. Or else surrender to unspeakable deaths in the darkened woods.

This book was incredible! Full of suspense and the narrator did an excellent job of giving each character their own voice!

I really like how the author sneaks in the homosexuality between to the two boys. It's so casual and natural and just adds to the story's plot.

The story centres around five main characters - a set of twins, their best friends, and an unwanted tag-along. The author seems to want you to dislike the tag-alone but as far as I'm concerned, the tag-along, April, was the only decent person and the author's attempts to make the reader dislike her just made me like her even more and the other characters even less. I made it halfway through the book before being unable to go on. I only made it halfway in the hopes that the main characters, excluding April, would meet horrific deaths. The few moments of horror where actually pretty great but unfortunately this book was more romantic drama than horror.

Good story but the main female is super annoying. She doesn't really seem to contribute to their survival in any meaningful way and she cry's nonstop throughout the book.

I thought the narrator did a really good job.

I didn’t really like the characters, which made it hard for me to care about them when stuff started going down. It was also kind of slow in the beginning.

Once things got going though, there were some very tense moments that I really enjoyed.

Was a good listen. Sad but definitely worth my time. THE NARRATOR WAS NOT VERY GOOD. Made most of the peripheral characters sounds like ding bats or douchebags.

First of all The narrator is really good !!
5 stars for the narration and 3.5 stars for the story.
The story was okay it had soo much potential though !!. I really cared for the characters as the writer spend good time building them up and showing the relationship dynamics.that's why I felt when things started to happen it just happened too fast and toooo short. I really wish If she took her time and continued with the rest of the story without rushing. One thing for sure I will be reading more of her work.

I feel like a jerk reviewing it, I could even listen to it but I’m hoping someone’ll maybe see this and fix the audio! I’m not sure what’s up but it’s skipping every other second or so. I tried turning blue tooth off as well as downloading instead of streaming over audio but to no avail. It’s a shame, it looks really good.

Her best book since The Seed and that's saying A Lot. Engrossing, well-written, and eerie. Definitely feels like Stephen King.

Would be a fantastic movie or limited series on Netflix.

Man, this was AMAZING. It was like reading a manuscript for a horror movie. The blend of human drama and visceral horror was perfect. I was just as invested in the drama as I was the overall monster story.

I’m actually so hype right now. The music added to the ending was brilliant.

PS: Sawyer was so annoying with his nonsense

I liked the book, but found it more akin to sitcom drama than horror for the majority of the book. The horror does creep in very well in the beginning, but fails to pick up pace near the midpoint and the ending feels a little incomplete. Overall not bad, enjoyable to pass time with but more for the drama than the horror, which seems more like a background aspect and didn't pay off well.

Reads like she hoped for a blockbuster. Average .. .

I don't know if it's just the books I've been listening too, but it feels like new authors are either trying too hard to be clever, or in this instance, writing with "this will be turned into a film for sure" in their minds.

If you like formula based adults playing teen cabin in the woods/hunted novels/movies, you'll love this.

2 side stories that could have made it interesting, didn't.

Also, nothing like Stephen King... Whoever said that can't read..

I like winter...heck I was born in a small Mid-West town in February, but good Lord I'm still freezing from the frigid cold air and snow surrounding this entire book. So true to life and character driven as usual for Ania Ahlborn from the horrible, vicious & starving creatures to the close family and friends who sought to mend bridges & fight their way out of that hellish winter madness they stumbled into. In my opinion, Bravo Ania! I'm a fan.

Very underwhelming ending. Good character development although. A little back story also would have been great too. Had potential to be better, however, as is it wasn't bad

The writing is fine and the story was going ok and then it just ends. You never find out what happens to half the characters. Sad, could have been much better.

I am SPEECHLESS. Entirely speechless. This was good, creepy, terrifying and had my adrenaline pumping. I found myself yelling at the characters just I would at a tv or movie screen during a horror/thriller flick. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Fantastic narration! I couldn’t stop listening. Took a minute to connect with the characters, cause they got on my nerves sometimes, but the one character arc was heroic and I loved it. What an ending!

Kept me interested. I would like to read more from this author. The narrator was great. If I don’t get into the narrator, I will simply stop listening. But this guy is really good.

Man. This was one of those books where you're both too terrified to hear what happens next but also so into it that you just have to keep listening. I was on the edge of my seat.
