I adored this book as a child, but hadn’t come back to it since 1969! I loved it again, but had forgotten just about everything about it, so it felt like a brand-new discovery. I was apprehensive about the narrator, as it’s a Librivox recording, and my experience with them has been disheartening; but Andy Minter was absolutely first class in every way— wonderful characterizations, and all delivered as your dream British grandfather would do it in a perfect world.
