About this audiobook
Jane Austen
Jane Austen was born in 1775 in rural Hampshire, the daughter of an affluent village rector who encouraged her in her artistic pursuits. In novels such as Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park and Emma she developed her subtle analysis of contemporary life through depictions of the middle-classes in small towns. Her sharp wit and incisive portraits of ordinary people have given her novels enduring popularity. She died in 1817.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The content of this audio book is, as with all Jane Austin books, wonderful. This audio book is dreadful. Every chapter has a new reader and just when you’ve adjusted to one voice and way of reading it changes and you have to start all over. It’s very distracting. There are other versions of this audio book available and its worth looking for one with a single reader.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Okay, the story is amazing… but the slow reading and constantly changing reader throws me off and makes me think it’s a whole different book! This makes me angry with this book
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Austen is not my favorite.... but I enjoyed the audiobook much more after reading the modern Jane Austen Society and seeing the recent movie.
