- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Hmm. Part of me, the cynical part, wants to give this one star. That's because by world" peace the author means Tire World, Mattress World, etc. But the happy part of me strongly believes that kindness and cupcakes do make a big difference, and loves the crazy illustrations, and wants to give the book 5 stars. Highly recommended to everyone who can disregard that nagging pessimistic voice inside."
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The whimsical drawings and sly humor make this an easy readaloud with the grade 2-5 set. Proimos is able to avoid didacticism as he gets across a great message about how we can all make a difference when we set out to perform little kindnesses to the people around us.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5start off small then work up big, chain reaction, challenge kids to be more like paulie pastrami, make this book a year book! Always refer back to it
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Part Bb/Picture Book Proimos, J. (2009). Paulie Pastrami achieves world peace. New York: Little, Brown Books.Paulie Pastrami is an ordinary boy. He was picked last for teams and wore mismatched socks, yet he was able to accomplish world peace. How did he do it? He started small, by being kind… to animals, to the Earth, to his sister, to his classmates. He continued to spread his kindness until he achieved world peace. Ages 4-8.
