About this audiobook

The New York Times bestselling author of Reaper's Stand is back in her "uber-alpha rough world of MCs"* as one woman's future is rocked by the man whose hardcore past could destroy her…

He never meant to hurt her.

Levi "Painter" Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty-a loyalty that's tested when he's caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.

Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she's learned to fight for her future. She's escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can't forget. It all started out so innocently-just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.

Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie's about to learn that there's no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.

Reaper's Fall is part of Reaper's Motorcycle Club series. This was Painter's and Melanie's story. The story was good and enjoyable. I did find it a little annoying that the story was told in first person point of view, but the narrator rotated every few pages between Painter and Melanie. Sometimes it made the story hard to follow especially when each narrator would occasionally jump to second person and speak directly to the audience. It definitely made it hard to get lost in the story. I did enjoy the story and visiting characters who had been in previous books. Overall, another good entry in this series.

4 "Space & Busted Rules" Stars! It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Joanna Wylde's MC romances of which I have read or listened to nearly every single one. So when I saw Painter's story was coming out, I was ecstatic. For those of you who read Devil's Game, Painter is the playboy Reaper's biker that Em (the daughter of the Reaper's MC's President--Picnic) had a crush on before she falls in love with Hunter from the Devil's Jack MC. We also have met our heroine, Melanie Tucker, in past Reaper's MC books. Melanie is Jessica's best friend. Given her close connection to Jessica, her aunt, London (Picnic's Old Lady) has always treated Melanie like a daughter. Which suits Melanie just fine as she is in need of a female role model given her own tragic family background--particularly that her mom just up and left her (and her drunk abusive Dad) one day.As you can imagine being like a daughter to the MC President's Old Lady, and younger to boot, Melanie was strictly off limits to a Reapers MC brother. However, all the rules in the world couldn't help Painter's internal thoughts when it came to Melanie. Then the Reaper's MC outlaw life catches up with him and lands him in prison. And guess who starts writing to him? None other than Melanie. Painter tries to ward her off--even going so far as to suggest that she date--but fate has other plans. In typical Joanna Wylde fashion, Reaper's Fall delivers some super, hot MC style erotic scenes. Moreover, the dirty talking internal monologues where Painter voices what he'd like to do with Melanie are simply off the charts. There is just something so wickedly appealing about the gritty and alpha way that Joanna Wylde's hero's voice their needs and wants and how they treat their heroines. There is also a fair bit of suspense as the Reaper's club gets involved in trying to prevent the internal overtaking of an ally club and the residual effects of living the outlaw life. However, all in all, I do have to admit that while good, Reaper's Fall was not my favorite Joanna Wylde romance. I think perhaps this may be due to the fact that there is a protracted period in the book when Painter and Melanie are apart. Grudges and rules, that I had a hard time accepting, particularly given the exceptional circumstances, govern this dark period. I wanted to shake one character for accepting defeat so quickly and the other for being so stubborn. Though I do have to admit that reunion was hot! Oh how I do love a Joanna Wylde MC hero when he goes into alpha hero mode! And again I will be sitting on pins and needles for the next Joanna Wylde MC romance! I loved it! Melanie Tucker has made an agreement with bad boy Levi "Painter" Brooks, but can she keep to it? It had all began when Painter was sent to prison and they began writing to each other. When he is released it's inevitable they will hook up. Their relationship is passionate and sexy but it isn't all that it should be. She's determined to live her life how she wants, and a battle of wills between them begins. This is their story. The tension and chemistry between Painter and Melanie was phenomenal at times and the thrills in the story line will keep the reader gasping for more.A very entertaining story, I enjoyed meeting past characters, and I just love those bad boy's. And the epilogues at the end were a nice treat, I loved Sugar & Spice. 5/5
