About this audiobook
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men books comes the second installment in the Saints of Denver series featuring a bad girl and a by the book attorney who could be her salvation...or her ruin.
Avett Walker and Quaid Jackson’s worlds have no reason to collide. Ever. Quaid is a high powered criminal attorney as slick as he is handsome. Avett is a pink-haired troublemaker with a bad attitude and a history of picking the wrong men.
When Avett lands in a sea of hot water because of one terrible mistake, the only person who can get her out of it is the insanely sexy lawyer. The last thing on earth she wants to do is rely on the no-nonsense attorney who thinks of her as nothing more than a nuisance. He literally has her fate in his hands. Yet there is something about him that makes her want to convince him to loosen his tie and have a little fun…with her.
Quaid never takes on clients like the impulsive young woman with a Technicolor dye job. She could stand to learn a hard lesson or two, but something about her guileless hazel eyes intrigues him. Still, he’s determined to keep their relationship strictly business. But doing so is becoming more impossible with each day he spends with her.
As they work side-by-side, they’ll have to figure out a way to get along and keep their hands off each other—because the chemistry between them is beyond charged.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My favorite of all Jay Crownover books. I own the book as well...such a great story! ?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Sexy story with loveable characters, great emotion, and a heartfelt message. As always, Crownover writes amazing relatable stories that all new adult romance fans need to read!Opening Sentence: She’s immature. The Review:Avertt Walker knows how to do one thing extremely well and it’s making bad decisions. Time and time again she seems to find herself in crappy situations, but her current predicament could land her serious jail time. The only person who can help her is super sexy Quaid Jackson.Quaid has spent his life trying to live up to everyone else’s expectations. He had the perfect trophy wife, who decided that he wasn’t good enough! He works harder then anyone else at his law firm but he still hasn’t been made partner. All of his goals seem to be just out of reach, but then he meets Avertt. She is feisty, young, and to top it off she has pink hair. But there is something about her free spirit that Quaid can’t seem to resist! On the outside you were think Avertt and Quaid would make an odd pair but they are more alike then even they know!Avertt is wild, kind, stupid, witty, defiant, and sweet all at the same time. She knows that she doesn’t make the best decisions in life but she takes responsibility of her actions. At first I just felt sorry for her but as the story progressed I started to really connect with her. She grows so much and the best thing about Avertt is that everyone can relate to her. It doesn’t matter who you are or what situation you find yourself in, everyone has to deal with the consequences of their actions. I realize the majority of people won’t have made the same mistakes as Avertt but regardless of what bad choices you make, you are ultimately going to have to deal with the aftermath! I don’t know a teenager out there who didn’t want to defy their parents at some point in their life. I know I had my rebellious phase and while it was hard, I learned so much. Now that I’m an adult I have realized that no matter how old or wise you get, you are still going to make mistakes. How you deal with the consequences dictates what type of person you are! The way Crownover implemented this message into the story was masterful and that’s why I love her books so much. Her stories are so honest and insightful. You know she writes from the heart because it shows in her work.Quaid was very different then most of the men Crownover writes about and I loved that she changed it up. Now don’t get me wrong, I will forever love her gorgeous, tattooed, rough around the edges men she has created, but I loved how polished Quaid was. He was very professional and extremely successful, which I find very attractive. He came from nothing and he worked for everything he has. He has a past filled with disappointment and pain, which caused him to be very bitter. But at heart he is a good person even though he can be a jerk at times. I thought he was dead sexy inside and out and he was a fantastic swoony character! The romance was electric and super steamy! Like all of Crownovers books there was lots of sexy times and great sexual tension between the characters. On the outside Quaid and Avertt seemed like polar opposites, but as you get to know each of them better you come to realize that they are actually very similar. I loved watching them fall in love and try to figure out their differences. Like all good love stories they had to work for their relationship.Charged is a emotional sexy romance that you will devour. I have been very vocal about how much I love everything written by Crownover and this story was no exception. She delivered a great message in such a realistic and entertaining way. There was the perfect amount of drama and suspense added in to keep the plot intriguing. The pacing was spot on and I ended up reading this way too fast. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. If you are a romance fan you will definitely want to pick this one up!Notable Scene:I narrowed my eyes at him, and that vortex of awful, which I always seemed to be smack dab in the center of, started to spin faster and faster around me.“Then you’re fired.” I saw the cops exchange a look as my rushed words had the blind man turning fully back around to look at me. “I don’t want your help. I don’t want anything from you.”Finally, there was something other than indifference and his gates. There was the price, maybe a hint of admiration colliding with a huge splash of humor in the pale depths.“Sorry, Ms. Walker, but you didn’t hire me, so that means you don’t get to fire me.” That grin of his, which should be registered as a deadly weapon, flashed across his face again as he watched me, and then he was gone.FTC Advisory: William Morrow/Harper Collins provided me with a copy of Charged.
